Our Creative Learning Spaces

In 2023, our cafeteria was renovated to be outfitted with a commercial-grade kitchen where we are able to host advanced culinary opportunities for students across the district. In addition to a variety of culinary class offerings, students have the opportunity to take leadership roles in the kitchen and assist with cafeteria operations for the rest of the school.

The Studio is our version of a makerspace. The space hosts art classes, as well being open as a flexible space for other classes to utilize materials and tools in their project creations. 

     

The Set is a small theater space set up for class performances, practice space,  and video and podcast production.

     

The Cove is a converted locker room turned aquaponics and hydroponics lab. Students can learn about the different systems to grow and harvest produce in a fast and sustainable way.

     

We want to foster an entrepreneurial spirit in our students, so we created a class where they can learn business skills while creating their own products to be sold in our storefront. We have several classes that create items that are purchasable by the public, so we created a space for them to sell products during our public events. 

     

Yes! We have an active beehive. Students learn how to raise and support our bee population, while also harvesting and selling honey from the hive. 

     

Trek company provided us with a generous donation of mountain bikes and stations completely outfitted with tools to build and repair bikes. Students not only learn how to ride, but can become Trek certified, repairing donated bikes to be resold during community events.

     

Speaking of entrepreneurship, we have our own student-run coffee shop that keeps us all running and provides us with other sweet treats! 

     

Another renovated locker room, we created a space where students can come and take clothing, personal care and household items, and use facilities to take care of their needs. It is important to us that we are taking care of the WHOLE student. We have an amazing group of students and community members who make sure it is stocked and organized.

 

While we are unable to provide choir, band, and orchestra, the Nest is a staff and student created space for the musically inclined. Open during Flex40 (lunch), students can jam out, learn how to play different instruments, as well as use the space for recording.
