APPLICATION PROCESS

If you are a current 8th grader, START HERE:

Dottke accepts the first 50 eighth graders (WAWMSD) for the following school year, once they’ve satisfied the following requirements:

  1. Attend a Discovery Night (8th Grade Open House) OR receive an individual building tour

  2. Both parent/guardian and student agree to the school placement by completing the school’s electronic “Commitment Form.”

Typically, our first 50 seats are filled by January 1st for the following year. Any commitments received after that time will be placed on a waiting list for future consideration.

For currently enrolled WAWMSD students at Nathan Hale or Central who are interested in attending Dottke, refer to the transfer process below… 

Transfer Deadlines:

Applications and building tour must be completed before these deadlines to ensure a smooth transition:

  • July 1st for 1st semester start
  • December 1st for 2nd semester start

Transfer Criteria:

  • Current 9th, 10th or first semester 11th grade student at Hale or Central
  • Attendance = 80% or higher
  • No more than 2.0 credits behind being on-track for graduation
  • No pre-expulsion contract
  • At the discretion of the District Administration, a student may be transferred to Dottke if it is determined it is in the best interest of the student's educational plan

***Current high school students that do not meet the minimum requirements for transfer are encouraged to reapply after addressing and attaining those requirements at their current school.

We don’t expect students to come to us being project-based learners, but they need to WANT to become project based learners. We will help guide and support them along the way!
